Dear GOBOF,

A Shakespearean epic dilemma for sure!

What I do is a little of each. I try to be 'good' re the sugar and carbs on Monday and Tuesday/relax a little but not entirely on Wednesday/back to good on Thursday and Friday. Then I do what I damn well please on weekends. Sometimes I go for "big" Other times, for "fit."

Life is too short for those of us in our 60s to be watching every mouthful, chronicling every step every moment we have left, particularly as the holidays approach.

Yet I freely admit I'm also too vain to let myself go up umpteen sizes.

Choices. There are always consequences, which I try to balance as a staunch Libran.

Probably not much help, advice-wise, but it works for me. So far. Fingers crossed.

Last but NOT LEAST, be gentle with yourself right now. Treat yourself with kindness not swift kicks in the tush.

Grief sinks deep roots. Whatever helps you endure it as your soul's soil accepts the realization of your loss is...well, the perfect soul food. Hugs and prayers.
