I can think of so many 'adopted' food cravings I've developed over the years - from when I was 8 and my parents 'discovered' bagels and knishes to Thai food and sushi much later. Scones & clotted cream in my 20s at a London tea. But what I never crave is black pudding - encountered in a country I love, Scotland, but I so couldn't be polite about that pudding. Or haggis. Though OMG I crave shortbread!
