I definitely label myself as an introvert - especially because I was a shy child who loathed school, crowds of kids, playing outside w/ them (unless I felt like it). Loved my time w/ books, dolls etc. BUT I know how to talk w/ people -- yet I much prefer one on one or small groupings. Cocktail parties w/ bs chatter - my idea of hell. Crowds in general are rough. Exhausting. So I call myself an "extroverted introvert." As in I know how to be 'out there' but can handle it for only so long. Ambivert COULD work, except the scale is much more heavily weighted toward introvert.
