I grew up in the US and truly didn't realize how insensitive the term is.

I refuse to call myself: “Latina” or “Hispanic”. This is a colonial term imposed on us by the Spaniards in the colonial era. I reject a label that was imposed on my ancestors when they were slaves.
I’m not Latina, Hispanic, or Latinx
