I stepped off it nearly from day one on Medium - knew I'd make myself - my inner insecure self who measures her worth by likes, claps, $$ - crazy. So get this! I NEVER look at stats...and I avoid visiting my articles so I don't see claps. The downside: I'm lousy at responding to others' comments. But I try and say 'thank you' by seeing who's visited my poem and read their words in turn.
