I think those spiritually searching (like most poets I know) are absolutely on a different plane than most of the world. The MAJORITY. So it's rough - and often a lonely journey - for us. Those not motivated to see deeply within and beyond the obvious, the literal just don't 'get' us.

Plus I think poets/writers/artists are emotionally sensitive because our art requires it...and the ugly emotions - the stress, hatred, anger etc - of the world has a huge impact on us. We think we are feeling OUR depression, OUR anxiety but we're also intuiting the planet's.
