I used to write poems like the doggie walk one - maybe some believe I still do. BUT I must admit, Thomas, I am deeply grateful to the editors who accepted those poems. They encouraged me to keep writing...and this kept me reading the writing of much better poets, which taught me the Craft on deep, deeper, deepest levels.

You are editor - you absolutely have the right to have a high bar of acceptance. (I read Scribe for years before mustering the courage to contact you - learned tons from your writers) But, to repeat myself, thank the Medium gods, there are editors who accept and welcome entry level-poets.
