I'm absolutely a believer though I haven't had any experiences even close to yours. Meanwhile I will for sure check out this book, Rebecca...Currently reading a book on reincarnation in Christianity. Yes, Christianity accepted reincarnation for its first 600 years - or certain gnostic sects/mystics did.

While born Episcopalian/Catholic, my journey has expanded well beyond the Christian box over the past decade. That said, I'm often bemused by how often Christian imagery pops up in my poems.
