I'm exactly the same way - of course, I'm retired and not trying to make a living at my poetry. So, it's easier for me, I guess, to be "serene"

And I'm thrilled to be read! That never happened much before I discovered Medium. Also, like you, I can't NOT write...even when I'd threaten to because of so many rejections from lit journals.
