I've had these moments.

… before they faded like a pair of worn-out jeans?
 
 I finally believed what I had always known — 
 sooner or later the world crushed everyone.
 I grieved for the beggar, my mother, my sister.
 We had all been exiled to the fringes
 of a cruel and godless existence.
 
 I struggled to save us…
