My father was a chemist (PhD); my mother, an opera singer. I resonated toward theater, music, voice, writing. Figured my creativity came from my mother. Then, in my 20s, I watched this cool program called Connections on PBS. And I had an epiphany - scientists are creative, too! In fact, researchers like my father even more creative than performers like my mother because they're - well, 'creating' theories the way a poet constructs a poem.

STILL, knowing all this, it took me until I became officially a woman-of-a-certain-age to begin to grasp the Beauty of science. My ex is an astrophysicist for caltech/NASA. All those years we were married, I barely glanced at the sky and wondered. Now, I can't watch the stars enough. For my birthday, my ex gave me membership in The Planetary Society and I was thrilled.

Long reply but it has been a long journey. Thank you again.
