Okay, I see this as a yin/yang thing. Yes, as a retired person, I'm disconnected from the abrasive reality of a JOB. But my avocation, my reason for being as a poet does not equal disconnection. I am free to see connection everywhere. Like this a.m., peeling an egg, I found myself pondering peeling our outer skins/judgments. When Jan 6 occurred in the US, I couldn't publish a poem fast enough.

I will concede that writing, pondering, hearing the music within words DOES require disconnection at the same time from the distractions of the world WHILE writing.

Interesting piece. Now I'll finish it, I promise, and stop commenting!!!! :)
