Okay, now that I know your mother tongue is Swahili, I have a question. I grew up being told that “Bsharah” my maiden name, means glad song. Which was so cool considering the musical house I grew up in and how I hear music in poetry. Once upon a time I looked up iterations of Bsharah — bishara, bashara etc — and saw somewhere that it does indeed mean song in SWAHILI. But now I can’t verify this. :( Any thoughts???
