…of my cheeks
in between clenched teeth — 
one more way to hold on
until I slacken my jaw to swallow
A tiny moon rises
on the rigid and
sets on bones that are like a baby’s
not yet fused
A fire is stoked in my belly,
and it melts the position I have fixed
