…ing of the water would 
contain it, would speak of it, would 
bring me always to it; and it to me? 
Even later when I learned that that music 
was, in truth, only random noise 
magnified by the acoustics 
of an auspicious shape, 
I went untroubled in my assurance 
that it was, aside from anything else, 
the Ocean. How could every creature 
not pulse with the life of its creator?
