This is key! If it's 'fake' or solely self-promotional, people sense it, I think. I agree, re wanting to succeed and at the same time wanting everyone else to succeed as well. No form of work - whether housepainting or poetry - needs to emerge from a 'scarcity' mindset, if you benefit I lose. SO not true.
