When waves appear in the ocean, they result from tides or the wind. They aren’t separate entities. They are the ocean doing something (waving). And, although we might say the wind blows, we could consider what is blowing. The air is doing something (blowing). We label the action “wind,” but wind isn’t a separate thing; it’s air moving forcefully.
