This makes me so sad because it's so misguided. There is SO MUCH to be learned from Shakespeare - and, yes, some of the characters/characterizations may make us uncomfortable today - but Shakespeare was a writer of his era...And isn't it great we've evolved? It's like someone on Medium wrote that Michelangelo's ceiling in the Sistine Chapel should be painted out. I nearly died. Canceling Huck Finn or To Kill a Mockingbird - misses the whole purpose of the novels. To POINT OUT the wrongness of society's thinking at that time. Yes, the language (n-word etc) is offensive but it's portraying what life was like back then. It's a form of history. Huck loved Jim. Atticus defended Tom R. and took a heap of risk in doing so. Oh, don't get me started. I'm a liberal - but this type of progressive thinking makes me freaking NUTS
