This poem reminds me of one of my all time favorite ever and forever memories. Falconry at a hotel in Scotland. You've described much of how I felt, the awe in particular, watching the falcon soar in the sky from my gloved hand.

What I didn't think about - thank you for this! - was that the falcon was warning me of the future. "Final choices, change your way or die by your decisions."
