Ok. You’re darn tough.
But the darn toughest thing to do
is to pull yourself up by your big boy sox
and with grace, class…concede.

What’s a twittle? Micropoetry. Four lines, 100 letters. Introduced to me by Carolyn Hastings, the patron saint of twittles and twittling. Thanks, Carolyn.

For over six months, I’ve been meaning to write a poem inspired by the name of these wonderful wool sox. Who wouldn’t like to become ‘darn tough’ — with a lifetime guarantee of strength —simply by donning Darn Tough sox?

Last night, my head was exploding and my blood pressure rising as I watched the news. I went up to my desk to cool off, catch up on my Medium reading — apologies AGAIN to those I follow, I’m chronically behind — when my eye fell on the Darn Tough label…

Thank you, Whitney Rose, for providing a home for me, my photos, and the poems inspired by them. Thank you, dearest readers.
