…a little patience 
and some encouraging words — 
we’ll know the score, 
and we’ll see that someday 
it will be good, 
it will be better…
so, quiet down the restlessness, 
settle down your uneasy heart, 
lay firm hand upon mine 
as we wipe clean the slate 
like drops of water from 
a marble countertop — 
a cold clean stone, 
gleaming and complex, 
the future is yours 
and it can be bright again
