and waits to be tossed or recycled into air or ashes,
or decides to quickly duck, 
as time scales senescent walls 
slowly climbing in poison ivy,
not unlike distended crab legs 
or a distilled centipede falling headfirst 
into the clenches of the hounds of Hades, 
and it is unclear whether or not one’s fate is predetermined.
