…aybe that’s putting it kindly, because even garbage has a purpose. Think of what culture should do. It should help us make sense of the world, enlighten us, inform us, develop our virtues and faculties, from empathy to grace, expand our horizons of the possible, let us step into the shoes of another life, and really experience their existential pain. The hurting, remember? That’s in all of us? From a tree to an ocean to my little puppy to me to you?
