Author’s note: I am extremely fortunate to live in a country where the elderly are respected, loved, and cared for by their families… right up to the end. But it isn’t the same everywhere. You are so fortunate! Aging can be a terrifying journey here in the US because our culture definitely does not revere the elderly - but I am hopeful we Boomers can change that. I was in tears reading your poem because my mother is 94. Enough said. xox
